During my recent visit to the Everywoman Festival at Insole Court, Cardiff, I attended a talk given by Diane Danzebrink founder of the not-for-profit company Menopause Support and creator of the #MakeMenopauseMatter campaign which was launched in 2018 and calls for mandatory menopause education for doctors, greater menopause awareness and support in the workplace, and for menopause to be added to the curriculum in secondary school education.
In order to fulfil part of the educational aims, Diane created an informative booklet in collaboration with experts in the field, it is free to download (menopausesupport.co.uk – Supporting You Through Change or QR code shown below) and gives a concise, factual, evidence-based resource which I think is extremely useful not only for menopausal women but for women at all stages of life to help become more informed and better prepared for this life changing stage of life.

Nutrition is touched on in the booklet very briefly but highlights four of the most important dietary related factors that can be tackled to help ease menopausal symptoms and improve overall health:
- Drink less alcohol
- Eat less spicy foods
- Reduce caffeine intake
- Eat a Mediterranean-style diet (lots of fruit, vegetables, beans and wholegrains)
This booklet is used as a resource by the NHS and UK Government and is an example of a fantastic FREE tool which I would encourage you to share with your friends and family.
